Crunch41 I just noticed Milwaukee hasn't been below freezing yet this season. Tropical paradise confirmed (or just more evidence of a weird-ass year all around). Think you'll beat the record of November 24 for latest first freeze? Here in Madison we first went below freezing on October 16, which is very typical, but still haven't been below 29 F (-2 C) yet.

Yes, nothing below freezing yet! Realistically, the only places still waiting for a freeze have to be along the lakeshore. But it's been a very mild fall, with some crazy warmth here and there. Basically 55/40 on repeat this past week which is comfortable and something we probably are both OK with.
A colder weather pattern is coming this week. I hope it means some actual cold and snow soon, but it looks like 40 degree rain instead . The NWS forecast has a few lows in the 30-32 range for the airport in the next week, so it MIGHT make it to the 24th. It'll be close.
Some trees in the city are still partly leaf covered since there was no hard freeze to speed things up. Still green leaves on the bushes. They don't change color, they just drop the leaves when it gets cold. Things are delayed a few weeks this year.

I observed a few wet snowflakes mixed in with the cold rain last night. First flakes of the season!

Graupel in my area yesterday afternoon that looked a bit Year like snow. Was a little colder than what I remembered from the weather forecast in the moment- maybe 2-4 C instead of the expected 7-9 C from the daily forecast (7C / 4C?)

0Β°C isotherm altitude for tomorrow afternoon. About at sea level here, but 10,000 ft high in the extreme souffff. Some relief at long last. Couldn't wait to GTFO Taiwan last October, and I was in vacation lol. Can't fathom enduring half a year of humid heat.

Winter Returns to Brisbane While Summer Comes Early to Melbourne, Adelaide & Hobart ( source: WeatherSpark ) Weather patterns across Australia have taken an unusual twist, with Brisbane experiencing winter like maximums while cities in southern Australia are feeling the heat. Cold Weather in Brisbane Brisbane recorded a maximum temperature of just 23.1Β°C yesterday (November 20), which is 5Β°C below the November average. While the official maximum was 23, realistically the temperature only reached 22.4Β°C yesterday in Brisbane. However official maximum temperatures are recorded between 9am to 9am each day. For this reason, the maximum for yesterday can occur anytime from 9am yesterday to 9am today. As the temperature climbed above 22.4Β°C this morning prior to 9am - this became the new maximum for the day. The chilly weather came courtesy of cool southeast winds under a thick deck of cloud and rain. Adding to the unseasonable conditions, Brisbane has recorded 179mm of rainfall for Novemberβnearly double the monthly average of 94mm. Heatwave Conditions Down South ^^Low intensity heatwave warning for Victoria. Source: BoM Meanwhile, the same weather system bringing cooler conditions to Brisbane is driving unseasonably warm weather in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Hobart. A ridge along the east coast is pushing southeast winds into Queensland, while at the same time funnelling warm northerly winds into southeastern Australia as cold fronts approach. Melbourne: Expect a maximum of 29Β°C today (7Β°C above average). Tomorrow, temperatures may reach 35Β°C, which would make it the warmest November day in four years. However on Saturday, average weighted forecasts suggest the mercury could nudge towards 36.0Β°C . If temperatures exceed 36.0Β°C, then this would make it the hottest November day in five years (with 40.9Β°C in November 2019 being the equal hottest November day on record for the city). Adelaide: Maximums are forecast to hit 34Β°C today and 36Β°C tomorrow, up to 12Β°C above average. Hobart: The city will reach 28Β°C on Saturday, 9Β°C above the November average. This contrast between cooler, wetter conditions in Brisbane and unseasonably warm temperatures in southern Australia highlights the diverse weather patterns shaping the country this week. Fortunately, they won't persist for long with the southern states becoming cooler early next week, while maximums in Brisbane should push back towards 30C by mid-next week.

It's 33F at 9pm in Milwaukee. There was some icy sleet/snow on my car after work.
2 inches of snow are likely tomorrow morning.

Late reply, but the combo of long darkness/very low sun angles/short days and balmy temps would be interesting to experience
