Huge snow storm yesterday. 47 cm snow in places around Uppsala in one day. In Umeå we got approximately 20-30 cm snow. Winds were pretty extreme around my parts. Coastal windspeeds up to 31.7 m/s. SMHI doesn't measure gust speeds at Umeå airport but the airport does inconsistently produce some form of gust data anyway and did record guts of at least 22 m/s.
Lots of fallen trees around Umeå, lots of buses and large vehicles in ditches etc. Lots of power outages among other things due to trees falling on power lines.

Yesterday's snow band was narrower and more northerly than forecasted. The deepest snow cover could be found in the NW suburbs. x.com/PierreHuat/status/1859634611304923263Down to -8°C in Wy, about 50 km NW of Paris thanks to a few dozen minutes of clear skies. Could have been a really cold night there, had it been clear and calm, kinda a la November 2010 on the south side.

Lots of rain predicted this weekend, before it becomes cold and gay once again next week. Will it actually happen? Fuck knows. The fucking 11C lows next week are always a fucken guarantee though Did not water my plants, even after today's 40C, with expectation of rain tomorrow. We shall see.

Same here, I don't think the temps are that bad though. It looked worse even a day ago.

Another day, another cuckvective cooling forecast fail here. 32°F low forecast by NWS last night ended up being 36°F -- still the coldest min of the season yet. Should this end up being the monthly lowest min for November, this will be the least cold monthly lowest temp (tying 1985 which also had a 36°F monthly min).

Lethal weather in Finland today, at least 7 killed in road accidents.
Finland's roads remain hazardous following first winter storm
The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) has issued warnings of bad or very bad driving conditions in regions across south and central Finland as well as in Finnish Lapland throughout the day on Friday.
Pedestrians have also been urged to be wary of very slippery conditions due to "wet and packed snow on top of icy pavement surfaces".
The hazardous driving conditions have led to several crashes across the country on Thursday and Friday, some of them fatal.
Two people died following a head-on collision on highway 79, near the town of Kittilä in Finnish Lapland, on Thursday evening, while another life was claimed in a crash involving a car and a lorry near Mäntsälä, in the south of the country.
Poor driving conditions were also reported in western areas, where six people were seriously injured in a crash between a car and a van near the city of Seinäjoki on Friday morning.
Police revealed later on Friday that two children were killed in the accident, while a third is in a critical condition in hospital.
Elsewhere, a section of Highway 4 between Jyväskylä and Lahti was closed in both directions for several hours on Friday morning after a truck jackknifed and completely blocked the road.

Norman got a freeze on Thursday night with a low of 31.6°F (-0.2°C). This is about two to three weeks later than normal. The OKC airport escaped a freeze, however, and now OKC is likely to have its fourth latest first freeze on record (the forecast low on Monday night is 30°F (-1°C).
