Just December for now. Perhaps would have been better to do in a separate thread? We could have a vote on that next year Hawarden looked unusually swingy. I've seen those warmth spikes before but surely those cold hits in the same month as those warmth spikes hit are pretty rare? The whole month was a fight been cold northerly systems and milder, but more unsettled Atlantic systems. Look at the wind gusts on the milder days, up to 81.5 on the 31st.

Each of these places sees more average temperature change in one month during Spring and Autumn, than my climate sees over the year.

Norrköping 2017 finally complete: 7.95°C mean is pretty decent after all, just a shame it was spread out so badly... Still, the year won't be remembered for anything. Good that rainfall picked up somewhat for the groundwater levels at least.

So, some other Swedish stations for 2017: Landsort, 50 km east of me on an island's peninsula just south of the mainland inlet. Lund, SW Scania, Sweden's subtropique paradise at 55°N that suffered from a crummer, but still had a very mild year, don't worry Giorbanguly this was actually a crummer and a rare one down there Örebro on the other hand, because of that sunshine in November that didn't affect the lows so much here, well, inland it did and it had five months with avg low below freezing in spite of not having any "proper" winter month While its January cold snap would be an epic one in Nyköping and Norrköping, in Örebro it happened every once in a while when I lived there, so nothing major

We had 2 record warm months this year - February and April. Last winter was the second mildest on record, and it was followed by the fourth warmest spring. But of course, 2 of the 3 below average months in 2017 had to occur during summer, making it the second coolest June-August of this decade behind 2015. So it was basically the blandest possible kind of year in terms of seasonal variation. We also finished with the second lowest snowfall total for a calendar year. There were a couple periods of good thunderstorm activity in the spring, while the summer was disappointing.

Unfortunately, the airport station was having issues with the precip measurement sensor, so on 3 days I had to use precip data from a co-op station about 5 miles away from the airport. I also went ahead and adjusted August for another day it had issues. 2017 ended up tying 2012 and 2016 for 8th warmest year on record. NWS adjusted two days in December by adding rainfall amounts. Here's what the revised data from NWS looks like. It is still missing data from a day in August, and I think the rainfall is understated for a day in December.

Damn, Louisiana is too damn warm. Getting 83F highs all the way up to October must be tiring Yeah, I'm usually tired of temps in the 90's by September. This past October we had 10 days with highs 90F or above. It was mostly in the first half of the month. The normal average high for October is 79.6F. However, heat in early-mid fall is more likely to be accompanied with moderate to low humidity than summer heat.
