Interesting how those Northern Plains climates saw a big warm up from January to February, and a similar cool down from July to August.

Interesting how those Northern Plains climates saw a big warm up from January to February, and a similar cool down from July to August. January was well below average and February was above average while July was well above average and August was below average. Rapid city would have had an A year with a warmer January and more snowfall.

Fucking Christ. Augusta's Jan and Feb were shockingly warm. A 73 F (23 C) average high for Feb??? Also Norfolk having an average high above 60 F (16 C) for February is shockingly warm as well. I guess it makes up for February 2015 lol.

Some from the south-central area: McAllen, TX —one of the hottest places in outside of the southwest. First snowfall since 1967! Port Arthur, TX —highest rain total from hurricane Harvey I could find. Wettest year on record by over 20” (500 mm)! Shreveport, LA Wichita Falls, TX Fort Smith, AR Springfield, MO It's pretty cool how Port Arthur got 55" of rain in August and 3" of snow in December in the same year. Who's to say that 3" couldn't become 30" though? It would be amazing to see that kind of insane weather on a regular basis. And only 2 rain days in September with 2.57" of rain...

Official sunshine total for Richmond (5 km from Nelson)at 2633 hours. I think Richmond may be overestimating though. One of the EWS in Auckland recorded 2400 hours however Mangere recorded only 2110 hours.

One of the EWS in Auckland recorded 2400 hours however Mangere recorded only 2110 hours. It's look more a case of the Nelson site under recording, due to age deterioration Niwa have looked into it, and it's consistent with Blenheim and other leading regions, that also recorded 2500-2600 hours.
