chilly morning. Current 9 am temperatures mid & upper air temps and height. for the moment, cold is centered over New England. Further west has been getting more cold, but as it's pushed out, we get a taste. Next week looks maybe a little colder than average but not frigid for mid March Cloudless sky here. Here's what it's doing aloft further north. Discussion from the Mt. Washington Observatory: Cold Canadian high pressure will nudge in through the next 48 hours behind an upper level low swinging by to the north keeping occasional cloudiness and bouts of summit fog in the forecast. Despite the upper low to the north, today will feature beautiful but cold conditions across the White Mountains Region with abundant sunshine illuminating the fresh wintry landscape. The main effects from the low will be more extensive daytime cumulus clouds popping up as the afternoon progresses with winds picking up a bit as the pressure gradient tightens. Overnight, a shortwave disturbance will swing through, grazing the higher summits with increased cloud cover and a period of summit fog that will dissipate towards the wee hours of Monday morning as it moves off to the east. The coldest temperatures of this 48 hour period will occur overnight as the mercury tumbles through below zero readings which will combine with winds increasing furthermore to send wind chill values towards 50 below.

Temps have still been shit, but the last 4 days have at least been sunny.
The 26th is now forecast to have a high of 42 (6 C) and the 27th is supposed to have a high of 44 (7 C)! Pretty sad that Iβm getting excited over 40s in late March, just shows how awful this month has been.

Had a good bit of rain this morning - measured 1.48". A number of lightning strikes but nothing severe.
Another round could come this evening, which has some potential to be severe. Looks like the sun is out right now and should warm to the upper 70's.

Been snowing here pretty much all weekend on and off though very little has settled. Probably because the ground is a tad too warm.
I actually want it to be mild and sunny this cold March is making me wonder when proper spring will begin.
I hope we get warm weather soon. Doesn't seem we will going my the climate models... Shocking...

Normally we would be on the lookout for the first 18-20c day of the year over the next 2 weeks. This year it doesn't look like March will get above 14.2c, which is very rare. It may not end up as cold as 2013, 1962, or 2006, but it is easily the cloudiest March ever recorded. www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?WMO=03772&LAND=UK&LEVEL=51Even April looks like it'll record sub 10c highs, which usually doesn't happen. Will it ever warm up?

Coldies on netweather must be covering the ground in more cum than there is snow in the climates that they live in. It's certainly their year alright. I expect we'll have a colder March than 2013 at this rate. April to be coldest on record as well probably.

Hopefully, yes. There is the worry it could just turn out like 1986, though, with a freezing wet summer to top it off. Thank fuck I have two weeks holiday abroad this year is all I can say.

April 2013 was decent, though May wasn't. We've had a lucky timing this month for weekends. Last weekend was warmish with 18Β°C highs coupled with double digit lows on both Saturday and Sunday and we've been lucky with snow this weekend. Temps have been around average overall, though precip above and sun below. We're on our 13th consecutive day with precipitation and are just at 40 hours of bright sunshine since the beginning of the month.

The first 6 months of 2013 were all colder and cloudier than average! Infact, the only warmer than average months that year were July, August, October and December.
It was also an extremely cloudy year; only July and November had average or above sun hours.

Today was quite a warm day, highs of 86 F (30 C), 84 F (29 C) and 88 F (31 C) at FXE, FLL, and HWO respectively. This week is looking rather swingy with it being very warm to start off the week and quite a bit cooler than normal to end. This March has been rather fun with all the cold fronts and temperature swings.
Currently a humid 76 F (24 C) outside as of 8 PM.

Low this morning was 64 F (18 C), high headed up to a very warm 87 F (31 C) with a small chance of showers after 2 PM (20%), I hope we get something. Things are looking a bit parched outside..

Mean temp up to today has been -5.3C, which matches the February mean. So almost 4C colder than average. Models seem to hint to milder oceanic air so we are not in danger to break records. Coldest March mean since 1960 has been in 1962 with -7.5C.

Our temps have been so fucking stable that yesterday recorded the LOWEST AND HIGHEST temps this month with a not at all unusual diurnal range of 43/16 (6/-9 C).
Last year had 42 such diurnal ranges, so this is not at all an unusual event. Just shows how shitty this month is.
I donβt feel like figuring out the last month with just a 27 F difference between the highest and lowest temps. Hint: itβs a very very long time ago.

The first 2 days of April look like January in the forecast! Usually the coldest day in April has a high of 10c, and we are getting 2 days of 8c. When will this crap end? The cherry trees are barely blossoming and even the magnolias are delayed.
