High of 30 (-1 C) today. First ice day since February 13.
Forecast is now showing 3 straight ice days to start next week. Then a tiny glimmer of hope at the end of the 10-day with highs of 41, 42, and 37 shown. Still below average and boring as fuck...
Sad stat time: April has an average high a little over 56 (13 C). The warmest April average high ever was 63.9 (18 C). The coldest was 42.8 (6 C). Why the fuck is it so impossible to get warm Aprils but possible to get one colder than a normal March?

I decided to check "Five Year Rolling Averages" for March. This is the coldest 5-year period of Marches since the late-60s/early-70s

Crazy diurnals at the Hรถgakusten bridge. I wonder if they temporarily removed the radiation cover or something. Though I doubt radiational cooling would cool it down that much. Very strange readings.

If you inserted a new, colder month in between January and February well that's exactly what this March would be equivalent to.
I've never known anything like this for mid-March since I was born. We have 40-50mph winds and -3ยฐC temps right now at 2:41PM. I feel like I'm in northern Norway.

Precip area centered over Paris hasn't budged an inch for the last 3 hours. Rain has turned to sleet now.

^ Possible to take a drive out to the burbs and see some snow?
Here it's a pretty seasonable March day. Low was 57 F (14 C) this morning and the high was 81 F (27 C). We've had pretty big diurnal ranges the past few days.

A few days ago there were supposed to be 3 days near 50...then they were all gone. Yesterday, there were supposed to be 3 days in the 40s at the end of the 10-day forecast...NOW THEYRE ALL GONE. WHAT THE FUCK? Hasn't reached 40 since the 6th. Only happened twice this monthโwould be a record low for March. Highest temp is 43 (6 C) on the 1st, would also be a record low for March.

Interesting kingdom of cold in southern Norway while Trondheim and points north are quite mild. Even Bergen, Stavanger, and Kristiansand are well below freezing. A few days ago northern Norway was bitterly cold with Mo i Rana near -20C.

Summer-like (or I guess late spring-like as well) sky this afternoon with convective clouds. An isolated thunderstorm popped up. Got up to 84F this afternoon... The record high for today's date is 86F. Dewpoint got up to 70F as the thunderstorm went over the airport. A few rain drops where I live.

^ Thank you For Binghamton, 14/15 was the 5th coldest of all time. 15/16 was the 2nd warmest. 16/17 was the 6th warmest For LaGuardia Airport, 14/15 was the 12th coldest of all time. 15/16 and 16/17 were the 2nd and 3rd warmest, respectively. The past winter was the 22nd warmest out of 79 years, so definitely well above average How about snow? Seems like even in warm years you guys have seen well above average snow recently.

Coldest day on record here again (date record) max today is -3ยฐC (27ยฐF); big snow drifts and heavy snow accumulation with gale force easterly winds. I don't even recognise my own climate any more.
