Saguenay is the hottest place in Canada right now at 32°C and 6:30 pm, can't happen often. Normally it's either Ontario or western Canada. NYC reached 20°C with a dewpoint of 19°C (66°F, a few degrees less on Long Island), Quebec City 32°C with a dewpoint of 14°C, both at 5 pm the strange pattern giving heat up north and cool here. 500 hPa, no low visible over the Northeast but Quebec has a warm airmass. from tropicaltidbits.com 850 hPa show a cool spot, but clouds are making the difference bigger at the surface definitely not a cut-off low. High pressure is stalling a front over us. Ridge isn't obvious from the surface map from www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/archives/web_pages/sfc/sfc_archive.php====================== and the clouds from NOAA Goes

The May record warm low is 73 (23 C) in 1911. Last night did not fall below 75 (24 C)! If it holds it would be the second record warm low set this year (also in February).
High was 87 (31 C), with dews in the high 60s and getting as high as 70 (21 C). First real muggy day this year, definitely felt the humidity.
Average high ends up at 76.2 (24.6 C). A few decimal points warmer than 2015.
This is now the 4th straight year with a record warm month! Never come close to that happening before.
Every day since the 19th has reached 70 (21 C) and every day since the 24th has reached 80 (27 C). It also hasn’t rained since the 22nd.
