Humid morning here, low was 71 F (22 C) and it's headed up to 85 F (29 C) with a 40% chance of rain. The sky is mostly cloudy right now and rain does look like it's trying to threaten.

Been a very odd spring here from chilly winter-like days to high summer conditions in the space of a week or so. Its very strange pattern I've never known a spring to have such wide deviations of weather.

Its very strange pattern I've never known a spring to have such wide deviations of weather. Yeah it's been pretty continental alright, last May/June had a lot of unusually warm and unusually cold days but I don't remember swings like this before: 12th April: 4.5C (high) 19th April: 23.2C 27th April: 6.7C 7th May: 25.6C Even though our four coldest March days on record are all from this year and we came within a couple of hours of recording a 2C high in April (would have been the coldest April day in 30-40 years), we've also come within a fraction of a degree of breaking our high temperature records for both April and May in the past few weeks!

Yep I think last week we had a high of 8c in London. 29th April had a high of 8c followed by a high of 27.9c today!! This Spring has felt below average despite the warm days. The chilly days stand out for me.

Today was quite hot, high reached 91 F (33 C) (after a predicted high of 85 F, lmao) with a very brutal sun, had a nice downpour around 7-8 pm as well.
Quite a humid night tonight now with 79 F (26 C) and a 74 F (23 C) dew point at the moment. Air feels very thick outside.

April was shit but May has been epic so far. Today had a high of 75 (24 C) with clear skies after a chilly nightβpretty much an ideal May day!
The first week averaged 76.0/50.3, the 10th warmest on record (24.4/10.2 C).
Its also been quite sunny, with brief rain the morning of the 3rd and a storm on the evening of the 4th. Otherwise itβs been dry and usually sunny. Great frisbee weather too, playing 5 nights a week now.
The coming week looks wetter but still warm with lots of 70s and high 60s. Gfs showing a heatwave into the 80s in the 3rd week of May, this could make up for the shitty April...

Reached 90F for the first time of the year yesterday. It got up to 92F this afternoon, which broke the previous daily record of 91F.
Forecast to stay in the low 90's over the next 7 days, with hardly any chance for rain.

If our forecast verifies then we will have 206 sun hour to 22nd.
We will surpass our April sun total either today or tomorrow!

I wonder how likely this is the week after next! The GFS has been very consistent with that storm the past 4 or 5 cycles (obviously not itβs exact landfall location but itβs existence in general) will be very intresting to see if it actually happens.

Sometime in late April the weather gods decided that winter was over, and we started getting summer weather. Trees, flowers, and other plants have exploded and already caught up to normal despite a late start.
Temperature comparison, April versus May 1st-8th. Also the first 20 days of April were even colder, average high was about 40F/5C for those days.
Milwaukee: 47.0/30.7 to 74.9/52.3, May extremes so far 43 to 86 Madison: 48.1/27.0 to 75.9/52.6, May extremes so far 44 to 81
Milwaukee: 8.3/-0.7 to 23.8/11.3, May extremes so far 6.1 to 30.0 Madison: 8.9/-2.8 to 24.4/11.4, May extremes so far 6.7 to 27.2
