Not getting to the forecast high again. Fuck!
High of only 83 (28 C) so far, forecast high was 86 (30 C). Could still warm up tho...
Average high up to 74.0 (23.3 C). Thatโs good for the 7th warmest on record, but the forecast busts arenโt helping.
Nothing below 75 (24 C) in the 10-day! Hope thatโs accurate.

Pretty extreme temperatures in northern Manitoba today with Thompson at 32C and Churchill at 0C: Thompson reached 33.6C yesterday, a new monthly record for May, and much much warmer than the -2.3 freeze they had two days earlier.
Climate NormalsI didn't expect northern Manitoba to hit 90 before me, but they just did.
Churchill had a a max of 8.5, but it was a morning high. By noon it was 3.8 and it was below freezing by 17:00. They did reach 18 earlier this week at least.

Nice weather's day yesterday, with much needed rain. Some stations got several storms. Le Bourget (N suburbs) got 35.3 mm and suburbs further out got minor flooding: Up to 90 mm in the far NW suburbs judging by radar echoes. Got storms later in the evening as well; had an almost overhead lightning where I was. Wall-shaking stuff. Attempt at a tornado earlier in the week in the countryside SE of Paris:

May sunshine records might be in severe danger. Up until yesterday Utรถ had clocked 324 hours, so they might break the magical 400 hour mark. Helsinki Airport has also already reached 300 hours.

I have only 213 sunshine hours so far, but my sensor is shaded out at 5PM, so I lose at least 2 hours of sunshine each day. Also, much of this month was very cloudy, but warmer than normal.

Next weekend could be quite hot. Wunderground shows a high of 103F and 102F on June 2/3. It's actually been a while since it last reached 100F; the last time was August 2015. Here's what the GFS shows Sunday of next weekend.

Kristiansand now has 310 sunshine hrs, but I'm confident the 381-sunhr May record from Tromsรธ will survive.

It would be strange for the southernmost city to steal the May sun record from the northernmost city in a country like Norway.

Subtropical Storm Alberto forecast to make landfall from around New Orleans to the Florida panhandle. I probably won't get much from it since I'll be on the dry western side...

Referring to ral31's 100F comment, KC has not reached 100F since September 8, 2013, the third-longest 100F-less streak since records began here in 1888. In fact, 99F has only been reached once since that date, in June 2016.
This despite July 2015, all of summer 2016, and June and July of 2017 being very warm. (August 2017, oddly, was extremely mild and rainy).

Rochester seems allergic to heat.
Highs of 83, 84 and 84 the last 3 days. Forecasts were for 86-87 all 3 days. Fucking bullshit!
The 85 (29 C) on the 2nd could easily be the highest temp this month even though it could be the record warmest May.
And the long range forecast has turned to shit with slightly below average low 70s and rain.
This is was a great Mayโnice and warm and dry, but it was also incredibly boring. It was consistently 7-10 f above average, but there was no heat whatsoever, the last 8 Mays all reached a higher temp.

Better than here...82, 83, 81, 85 the past 4 days here in Long Island, but yesterdayโs dew point was in the 70โs, so it certainly qualified as โhotโ. NYC is another animal though (in the spring), car thermometer hit 94 yesterday there, but dews were in the 60โs, so there wasnโt a mega difference in the apparent temp between here and there. 60โs with rain today though, not feeling it at all. This May was a lot better than the previous 2, but the excess backdoor coldfronts and unsettled weather really stopped it from being great.

So far in 2018, including May 26th so nearly 5 months, Trondheim AP has recorded just 117.6 mm precipitation. If that continues, we will end up with 282 mm for the whole year... But it won't. Several smallish forest fires right now in the southern half of the country, including one near the innermost part of Trondheimsfjord. Bergen might record 30C today, and the old record high for May was 27.6C and are being crushed today. Currently 23.3C here @ 15:00, sunny and few clouds, forecast high of 26C.

LaGuardia touched 90F on four separate occasions, including an 89F high on Friday. Not to mention the epic heat blast at the start of the month. Tied with May 2015 for the favorite May I've experienced here
