Most of Metro Vancouver hit 20-21C today after dipping to ~1/2C this morning. The airport (which is right next to the water) was much cooler at only 12C due to a persistent NW wind.

Lovely weather today which has been very rare this winter. The next two days look rainy, which will be a nice change from the pleasant weather, and then after that it looks like we'll see more sun. Variability is very important in a climate and day to day weather.

Its an already below average March and by this time I'm sure I normally see more flowers, leafs on trees etc. Norwich is really lagging, daffodils are only just coming out and barely any trees have any blossom at all, let alone leaf buds. In London all these are visible but later than usual.

The forecast looks like I could have my coldest birthday on record! It's a close fight with 2013 and 1987.
Absolutely nothing good about this month so far. Easily the cloudiest March on record at the moment, with only 15 hrs almost half way through!
April needs to destroy 2007 and 2011 to get everything back on track.

That's already just happened for me actually, at least when talking about the highs. 2nd March this year had a high of -1.7C and low of -2.8C, and the coldest ones before that were 1986 (-0.2/-4.6) and 2001 (0.2/-9.6). It's the earliest date in the year anywhere in the country has ever reached 20C but it's usually a really bland 7C and overcast or so here on that date, I don't remember any spectacularly mild birthdays. And wow, I hadn't noticed quite how bad the sunshine had been across the whole country, the closest one to me in Leeming is on 11% of total average sunshine! www.met.reading.ac.uk/~brugge/CURR.html

I just love all the epic rants on this forum. March is a winter month here so this coldwave isn't gonna bother me that much especially with all the sunshine that comes with it but damn it, April had better be warm. Three straight months of rain in autumn followed by bitter cold in February and March, it's been six months since any semblance of comfortable weather.

Beautiful here today, low this morning was 48 F (9 C), currently 53 F (12 C) with a 42 F (6 C) dew point with a nice, cool breeze. High today predicted around 70 F (21 C).

Especially since 4/5 months have been below average, with February the lone exception

I hope we get some decent shots of cool air in April, with a few mornings in the 50s. It's very possible, an average April drops to 55 F (13 C). We haven't had a below average April since 2005 down here, so we're well overdue me thinks. Although, if we got a major cold snap with lows in the 40s that would be pretty awesome as well.

Fuckin' jealous, here we'll be lucky to see 21 by June. Ice days likely next week, when's the usual latest below freezing max in Vancouver?

Highs today in Scandinavia incl Finland Clearly coldest highs in the NE. Can you spot at least two glitches on the map? One says -17.2C and one says -1.8C. There are also some mountain stations, so that will explain some nearby stations with very different highs.

Shoveled snow for the first time in 2 months today, what the entire f*ck. Just a few weeks ago I was wearing t-shirts without a jacket (in FEBRUARY), I havenโt done that yet this March. The two have switched places this year.

The two have switched places this year. Past two years* We haven't had a March be colder than February since 1984, and now it happens two years in a row-wtf Also on track for our 5th below average March in in 6 years

Normally sometime in Feb (8th Feb last year, 23rd Feb this year). Below freezing max temps after the first week of March are very rare, especially at the airport which happens to be situated in the most temperate area across Metro Vancouver.
