The best might be Hattiesburg, MS en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hattiesburg,_Mississippi#Climate Mississippi on my latitude seems a bit better than Louisiana with more summer t-storm activity and seems more likely to get the brunt of winter cold snaps and snow events. However, it's also more prone to severe weather/tornadoes. The worst of what I've found I guess would be Ahvaz, Iran. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahvaz#Climate

Do you have year-round stats for Freiburg? I think I'll still choose Freiburg, although Vienna is a pretty close second. Loads of missing data unfortunately. Here is Freiburg 1981-2010.

If there's a lot of missing data there, doesn't that make the wiki's stats plausible? And couldn't they just be different stations?

Freiburg should still be the best climate at 48N. Overall it's very good for its latitude with temperatures about as good as Seattle and more summer rain which is good.

Cadeau would you pick the same places for my latitudes or somewhere different? We have similar overall climate preferences, but might have different tolerance ranges.... 42°N = Lalín, Spain45°N = Limoges, France

For best, has to be San Diego, California. This is an undisputed and indisputable fact. Always between 80 (27) and 50 (10) degrees. For worst, I would say Isfahan, Iran. 100 (37) degree average high at summer and goes down to 25 (-4) for lows at winter.

No, it's not "an undisputed and indisputable fact". Quite the opposite! Little precipitation + overwhelming evaporation rates = terrible climate for cropping or raising any livestock.

Between 35º00' to 36º00' North or south. Best- Right here (warm Cfb), or Tangier, Morocco(Csa). However, I would prefer a southern suburb of Nowra (Cfa/Cfb), a town slightly further north and inland. Worst- Quite hard, as my latitude is pretty good in general (my optimum is 33º though). If any elevation is applicable, then Hezuo, China with its Dwc climate isn't that great: with cool-to-cold temps year-round; and worse sunshine than here.

For 34.5-35.5°N
Best: Probably anywhere in non-elevated Upper South from where I am (New Bern) all the way to western OK (e.g. Clinton/Lawton) tbh, best combo of hot summers and interest/variety and storms
Worst: Pismo Beach or Morro Bay, CA*
*Not including highly elevated locations

Darwin - 12.46*S = 1832mm per annum Lima - 12.05*S = 6.4mm per annum. Consider Lima to be the worst tropical climate. Annual mean similar to what you might expect at 30-35°N/S at the same latitude as Darwin, hyperdry and sunshine hours similar to freaking Scotland to boot.

For New London, 41 ~ 42N: Best would be in Albania: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirana#Geography though there's plenty of good climates at this latitude, like Girona, Rome, or Istanbul Worst at sea level has three candidates, though if I had to order them, it would be these from worst to least bad: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esashi,_Hokkaido_(Hiyama)#Climate en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urgench#Climateen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonghua#Climate (at 400 m, but whatever) For Seattle, 47 ~ 48N: Best: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nantes#ClimateWorst: some Dfc climate in the Kuril Islands For San Luis Obispo, 35 ~ 36N: Best: again, a lot of choices. If opposite hemispheres count, then en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nueve_de_Julio,_Buenos_Aires#Climate . If not, then somewhere in NC Worst: somewhere hot desert climate in inland southern California, Nevada, or Arizona
