Drove halfway to bumfuck Bamfield until we realized we wouldn't be getting any lunch there as visitors are NOT welcome. So, I turned around and took some pics at a cool spot. The ferns were HUGE there...almost as tall as me. It is a primeval forest. Very weird and unlike anything on the mainland! Weird tree got fucked by moss

Newcastle Island from today. Completely different forest from the one near Bamfield. Lots of oak and arbutus. But first, looking back at Nanaimo

Ride out to the Swan Valley in NE Perth. Started in Guilford and did a 50-55km loop around the area, very nice day with temperatures mainly in the low-mid 20s, cloudy with a light NE breeze. The Upper Swan River Flat, local roads Vinyards and nice skies Bells Rapids, not at full force, have to wait until August for that. I popped my front tube about 15km in so I had to ask a farmer for some duct tape to patch it as neither my mate or I had remember to bring a puncture repair kit. Fortunately the duct tape allowed us to ride about 15-30 minutes before I had to pump it up again. The tyre after half an hour of sitting there: First pint in about 3 months, well worth the wait. Changed it to the correct thread

Walked last evening a bit of the Legacy Trail on the north side of Lexington. The temperature was about 80°F with a dew point in the mid 50s.

5 minutes from local midnight looking over the central parts of town. 200m away, from my balcony in my new apartment at local midnight. I won't experience anything darker than this for like a month.

Coast by Port Renfrew also look like Olympic NP coast

Well, I was in need of sustenance so I took an evening drive to Squamish yet again. Grocery/liquor store is a good excuse to take a drive. Looking north, out on the spit in Squamish. First time here because I never knew it existed until a few nights ago. I'll definitely need to come back when the weather is nicer. It was 10.5C, raining, and windy: Looking northeast toward the terminals Badly centered photo due to the wind, looking southwest: West West northwest The highway is somewhere out there, along with Shannon Falls. It was impressive today, especially from this distance. Pretty amazing falls there: Closer up shot, looking southeast Back in car, I had enough of the shit weather: Closer shot of these toxic flowers. Forgot what they're called: Jajajajajaja bro, is more lush than Bamfield SNOW A rare shot from the highway On the way home I stopped along the highway when the lighting was perfect...

Me and my roommate chilling on our balcony at local midnight My friends chilling by the lake at local midnight And in the lake. It was actually reaaaally warm in the water. I'm used to the water feeling warm to the touch at night when you're cold and/or drunk, but this time I wasn't drunk and I wasn't cold, but when I touched the water it felt sooo much warmer than the air, and even warmer than my hand. I think maybe because there isn't any wind during clear nights, the warm water has an easier time seperating and rising to the surface, and all the water that gets cooled by the air and radiational cooling sinks to the bottom. I didn't swim that night, but I did go swimming during the day two days later, and it was really warm in the water, and surprisingly enough, it didn't get colder 10 or 50 cm below the surface. I'm pretty sure the water temperature was above 20'c even 50cm below the surface, which is pretty rare for mid-June. I was biking around in the sunny warm weather, going around different stores, then when I left one of the stores it started raining and thundering. It rained for a total of only about five minutes, yet multiple millimeters of rain managed to fall during that time. Creek started flowing over after those five minutes. Clouds were pretty cool. I saw a few lightning strikes too, but most of the lightning struck a few dozen miles north of Umeå
