The churchyard is further along than anywhere else I've been. Actually seems to be at peak. The burial place of Elihu Yale. A name that should be familiar to American members: Church interior. Not weather related, but interesting. Dates back 800 years. Some urban shots:

I've been lazy as hell recently, but here're some quick vegetation update pics near me (as of Sun morning though). They ain't that pretty but you get the idea; the deciduous trees haven't peaked yet.

Took a walk at my favorite place in the area, Allapattah Flats. It was coolest day so far this fall, with a high of 73.6 °F (23.1 °C) at my PWS. It's a short walk across old pasture to get to the hammock. Entering the hammock Frostweed ( Verbesina virginica) Lots of berries. Beautyberry ( Callicarpa americana) and shortleaf wild coffee ( Psychotria tenuifolia). Water hickories ( Carya aquatica) Firebush ( Hamelia patens) Some non-native wild sour orange Lots of limestone outcrops in this area Palms in a marshy area More oak and elm forest

Heavy snow on them hills. Not long now for the first real snowfall. Had some flurries all night but it was so light. Literally a few flakes every few seconds.

Extremely comfortable, sunny and warm with a high/low of 72/51 @ LGA and 70/42 @ Farmingdale. Likely the last 70s of the year here. Fall colors are definitely progressing here but slower than usual due to the warm October. Fall wildflowers and some nice mix of green and orange leaves here today.

It's happening! Our first proper snowfall of the season started coming down late this afternoon and is expected to drop 2 to 4 cm on us overnight. It was just above freezing for most of the day and quite cloudy but with no real precipitation, then around 3:30 or so we had wet snowflakes that started coming down and melting on contact with the ground. As the temperature started dropping, the snow started sticking around more and things got a bit slippery outside. We're supposed to drop to -5C overnight and the next couple days have highs below freezing, so this relatively small accumulation should stick around for a little bit. Overall a fairly mild snowfall compared to last year's monster 35 cm blizzard that kickstarted the cold season (which is fine with me, I'd rather ease my way into the crappy ground conditions than deal with the total mess that was November last year).

Beautiful! We got a bunch more snow overnight and ended up with a proper winter landscape. Looks so much nicer than the barren pre-winter look we've had for the past month or so.

Roughly the same spots this morning—13 days later. Seems to be near "peaking" but not too pretty; temperature was in the upper 50s at the time.
