Couple pics from early November: Nice and gray today! Roundhay Park yesterday. Pretty much peak autumn colours for us. *snip* Pretty! Looking at your photo as well as Strewthless's, it seems like you guys peaked later than us this year, not sure if it's usual.

rozenn, we've had mild lows this year. Nothing below zero yet, and a lack of large wind storms to blow the leaves off the trees.

Took a stroll in the woods today. Some trees are bare, some aren't. Lots of leaves left to the right: Dafuq? Is this spot trapped in a time warp?

Picture perfect weather the last couple days (Nov 12-13) in South FL. High/low of 82/74 and 86/71 and mostly sunny both days (using Pompano Beach station). Literally couldn’t ask for better beach weather. Coconut palms that Cevven shall enjoy. They’re super common there obviously, even in shitty areas. This pic from the beach, ocean temps were in the mid-upper 70s.

desiccatedi85 A bit off-topic, but you need to remember that most ASOS/AWOS sites discount mid/high-level clouds. You can't really call a day with a thick layer of cirrus sunny/mostly sunny

It was definitely cloudier than the sites were reading on Friday particularly.

Not the best photo, but I'd say that's about peak colour now. It's all downhill from here.

I can't imagine there's much difference on average, but yeah it's been a mild and calm autumn - only one night below freezing and no wind storms.

Missed it while I was in FL this weekend, but I forgot to mention the severe weather outbreak here on November 13. Numerous wind and hail reports in the area, and 4 tornadoes were reported on Long Island alone. Storms were driven by a large temperature gradient and instability, was in the 60s before the front came thru but low temps have dropped into the 30s after. Shown below is tornado damage from Levittown, in the same county as me.

Today at about 3 pm, overcast and light rain from time to time. They decorate the city's Christmas tree.

Hiked part-way to Monte Redentore—part of the Aurunci mountain range up to Eremo di San Michele Arcangelo to watch the sun set from there yesterday.

Have been traveling around the country a lot in recent months, for both work and leisure, no fixed location for more than a few weeks. Lots of hiking. Was in CO last weekend and I wanted to try soloing a few 14ers during the offseason, so I took a shot at a few of the more vanilla ones, Pikes and Quandary. On Pikes I actually made the summit starting from CO Springs area, elev gain of 7500 ft: Started on the manitou incline which starts at 6600 ft and it's basically stairs that rise 2000ft in under a mile. Bought the cheapest garmin watch to help with tracking, accurate altitude to within 100 ft. Hit the half way point, Barr camp at 10000 ft in under 2 hrs. If only the remaining half was just as easy. Trees fade to nothing between 11500 and 12500 ft. Cool rock formations above treeline. Viewing more than 2km of elevation gain. Fun climb because you get to experience a several different biomes and climate zones doing it. Summit was 30f with blasting wind, when I descended back down to manitou springs it was 60f lol. Quandary I tried a few days earlier. Unlike Pikes it's not on the front range and gets more snow. This one the trailhead is already 10800 ft; I got up to the final ridge at 13000 ft and very promptly turned my ass around due to sharp winds around 50mph sustained. Still got some nice views pf the Breckenridge area. Each clip in the video is a few hundred ft higher than the previous clip.
