Also an autumnal look here, at least in some spots (photo from today). Most trees are bare now though. Today was partly cloudy with a high/low of 50/44 @ LGA and 50/42 @ Farmingdale, although lows will drop further than that tonight.

Subtropical skies on December 1st. Before any of you tell me "but it's not subtropical!" yeah well you're fucking wrong. It was a direct stream from the SW Pacific. Late in the day produced weird colors.

Mostly cloudy with scattered rain/snow showers, high/low of 43/36 @ LGA and 40/34 @ Farmingdale. No official accumulation, but it was scattered on grassy surfaces as a tiny dusting. Still a couple trees with leaves here, but 90% bare at this point.

Damage report from Storm Arwen, which brought 120km/h (75mph) winds to this area. It's not pretty, the woodland looked like it had been hit by a bomb, large trees have been uprooted, and most of the main paths were blocked off. This large tree took a tumble, brought down a stone wall with it. The exact same spot, just a few months earlier: Bonus, some funky winter mushrooms

Went to the Dixon reservoir yesterday afternoon. About a 2.5 mile loop with minimal elevation although it does get to a ridgeline. Temp was in the 50s. Nice view of the reservoir and the hogbacks. Lots of yuccas here for some reason, don’t see them elsewhere around here. < Trail then ascended a small ridge—the first ridge of the foothills. Got a solid view of Fort Collins but didn’t come out well in pics. After crossing the small valley, I walked along the base of the pine ridge: Deer: Looking toward the reservoir on the way back. Shows the open prairie landscape:
