Japanese Magnolias are blooming. This is the earliest I've seen them do so. Grass is growing and I see some dandelions blooming. I even saw hibiscus blooming. I don't think I've ever seen them growing in winter before.

Spent a couple of hours in Gantrisch Nature Park yesterday afternoon. Did a bit of hiking to Selibรผel, at 5,740 ft ASL. Still a fair bit of snow in spite of the warmth (got snow under my boots lol, but felt warm out with a T-shirt there).

Looks like one guy in the distance of the 5th picture is walking with his shirt off.

jetshnl I'm not one to treat car thermometers as Gospel, but it's indicated temps in the lower 50s at the time. Stacks up because Napf to the northeast had temps in the mid-50s at the time:

An extremely rare Babu Palm, they thrive in wall climates.

Snow drifts yesterday morning, following the semi-blizzard we'd had overnight.

Went for a walk last weekend since there was some snow for once. Snow depth was 2-3". Weather was in the high teens F with a light breeze. Partly cloudy turning mostly cloudy.
The whole route is about 1200 miles, but only about half is off-road trail. One of the shelters for backpackers. A view out the window which is just an open gap in the wall. No glass. 2:45 PM but it looks close to sunset which is at 4:30. A few minutes after sunset

Spent the last week skiing in Big Sky, MT. > Beautiful sunrise in Wyoming on the drive up: Sunset over Lone Peak: We stayed practically right on the mountainโwas a 5 minute walk to the lifts Except for Tuesday, it was cloudy and snowing most of the trip: Really cool snow clouds: Last look up at Lone peak from the base area: Due to the $50 price and limited visibility, I never took the tram up there. Still got plenty of great skiing in and itโs such a huge mountain, the variety was great. <

Went up to the Mille Lacs area today (about 60 miles NE of me), gorgeous area. Got some pics of the sunset, I would've taken many more pics if I wasn't a fucking moron and charged my phone. Temp was -9 F (-22.8 C) with a stiff NW wind.
