Summer Travel Photo Thread
Pemberton/Walpole/Denmark 8th-10th December.
A short but intensely busy trip down to Pemberton to see relatives/cycle, then down to Walpole/Denmark to see a lot of areas I hadn't seen before or at least since i was 9-10 years old.
December 8th:
Peppermint Grove Beach (between Bunbury and Busselton, on the Bay of Geographe). Had a beautiful swim here, was a lovely morning. Also the morning of Day 1 of the Brisbane Test; driving through the sun, passing past pastures, eucalypts and beaches whilst listening to the parade of English batsmen wickets falling; the greatest experience a man can live.
Cycling to Big Brook Dam, Pemberton and the Cascades. Temp was in the mid 30s, about a 40-45km bike ride.
Big Brook Dam, nice spot for a dip
Cycling from big brook through Pemberton to the Cascades
lovely farmland views
Nice boardwalk at the Cascades, for some reason didn't take a photo of them.
Really enjoy the rolling pastures around Pemberton, great scenery for cycling.

December 9th:
Drove through Mt Frankland National Park to Walpole and Denmark. About 37C, sunny, one of the best holiday days i've had.
Good views of the great forests of the south
Mt Frankland hilltop, bit of a steep climb with some awesome ladders to get up the granite sides.
Actually had to call up emergency services and report spotfires that were developing in the national park, with temperatures forecast up to 37-38C and very gusty NE winds...the conditions became very dangerous.
Back on the coastline
Peaceful Bay
Greens Pool/Elephant Rocks - a fucking awesome spot; if you ever go to WA go to this place! Heaps of rock jumping, swimming and exploring. So much fucking fun.
Sexy mafic dyke intruding granites
Walked about 1km east and got an entire beach/rock pool to myself
View of greens pool as I left
My screenshot as I left Greens Pool (one for the english cricket fans)
Weak storms coming through in the evening at Parry Beach campsite
Drove back at 430am on the 10th to get back to Perth.
